(Link displays nude suspect.)

A woman disrupted a city council meeting by taking off her clothing.  She then yells at the police who arrested her for public nudity and claimed they were violating her civil rights.  She claimed they were in violation of the Constitutional right to be nude.  The officers did not engage her in a pointless discussion, which is very good.

The officers were very professional and they got the subject out of the council chambers right away.  The placed her in a control hold and moved her to a hallway.  It would have been better if they could have had a female officer secure the suspect, cover the suspect with a blanket and move the suspect to a room or hallway without access.  Once people are arrested, I don't support their right to talk to other people, the press, passers by or their friends and family.

The officers may have been able to move the other people back and I certainly would have maintained her stance towards the wall.  Not only to cover her nudity but to keep her from talking.  What I don't want is to have to fight her and other people behind me who may support her or who may become enraged by what she says.  Know the law, this woman had committed a crime and was being lawfully arrested for that crime.  Her rights were not violated; that's what the SGT Says.
