Wanted posters are an excellent way to spread information about suspects and suspect vehicles. They should be done on agency letterhead with logos and contact informations. They should have phone numbers, email and names to contact in the event the suspect is located. They should indicate the nature of the offense, and if the agency will extradite the suspect from other states or other countries.
The biggest disadvantage to posters is they don't get spread around enough. They need to go to every local agency, agencies that might have contact with the suspect and media. Putting them on the department website and Facebook page is a must.
They should also be sent to blogs, and other social media for maximum exposure; that's what the SGT Says.
