10th Annual ‘Cops Fighting Cancer’ Motorcade

HonorsPatients at Children’s Hospital Colorado 200Law Enforcement Officers to Deliver Toys This Year
Aurora,Colorado – 200 uniformed law enforcement officers from throughout the State ofColorado will bring smiles to kids at Children’s Hospital Colorado when theyarrive in a motorcade with new toys for patients.  The 10th Annual ‘Long Blue Line’ will consistof 100 police cruisers and motorcycles. 
Thisis the 10th year of the event and the largest to date with law enforcementofficers from 30 different local, state and federal agenciesparticipating.  They’ll deliver 1,000toys to 300 children.  Aurora PoliceOfficer James Seneca, who founded the organization and is a cancer survivorhimself, says these kids need to know they are strong and courageous, “Cancertakes such an emotional toll on patients and their families so we try to createan uplifting environment.  If a littlesupport can help a child get through another day then I’m doing my job.”  Cops Fighting Cancer has visited more than7,000 children at the hospital since the program began 10 years ago.
Someof the law enforcement agencies participating this year include the AuroraPolice Department, Denver Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office,Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol, U.S. Marshals Service andthe FBI.
