Texas is testing a new Chevrolet that goes 200 miles per hour.  That's very impressive.  A police car that goes 200 miles per hour is probably useful once in a while in the wide open spaces of the Western United States.  There are few occasions where the average police car even needs to drive 100 miles per hour.

A police car driving 200 miles per hour would kill the occupants with essentially any traffic collision.  Even a dip in the road, a bit or road hazard or debris could cause an accident at those speeds.  The slightest problem with the suspension, steering, brakes, or other components can also cause an accident.

The other problem is that officers don't generally have the skills to drive a car 200 miles per hour.  Most officers can't drive a car 100 miles per hour either.  The officers who drive this vehicle will have to have extensive training so they can operate the vehicle safely.  I would be more impressed if they could instead invent a police car that would always allow an officer to survive a traffic collision at any speed below 65 miles per hour; that's what the SGT Says.
